Memorial Day Weekend.

What an AWESOME weekend, I have so much to be thankful for.

On Saturday, I turned 28 :)  My sweet husband bought us a weekend getaway in Charleston this summer!  I was so excited because I love being with him and sometimes its important to "leave it all at home" and go somewhere.  We have been talking about spending a weekend in Charleston since before Gage but never really had the time, so I am so thrilled for this little getaway.

Also on Saturday we got to see sweet girlie Sloan at her first birthday party!  It was a Minnie Mouse party and so precious!

Saturday night Erik and I (just the two of us) went to dinner and drinks and we had such a great time.  That night reassured (as if I didn't already know) me about how lucky I am to have Erik, he is a man that has stolen my heart for sure.

Sunday Gage got his very first hair cut!  It didn't go as planned, BUT it is JUST a haircut!  We got to Sports Clips at 4:55 and they closed at 5, oops.  So they cut it real quick, I snapped a few pictures and then we went and got ice cream at Killian's in Birkdale, yum!

Monday was Memorial Day and Erik spent pretty much the entire day making my car FLAWLESS while Gage and I went to the pool with our neighbors!  We then went to a cookout at Aunt Gales :)

Tomorrow is back to work, but only 9 more school days!

 Happy Birthday Sloan!

Mother's Day.

Wow....I haven't posted in almost a month, slacker.  Anyways, today I want to write about my mom :)  Now that I am a mom, I can REALLY appreciate (I always have) who my mom is and what she has done for me.

I was born on May 25, 1985.  I was harassed by my sisters and my picture was never taken, but other than that...I was very loved :)  Haha, just kidding...well not really, but I mean if thats all I have to complain about, I'd have to say...I had/have it pretty good.

My mom has ALWAYS supported me.  Through all the years I was in school, sporting events, growing up, getting jobs, being homesick at GWU, making hard decisions, getting married, buying a house, being pregnant, having my first child....the list goes on forever.

Gretchen Looper (as you all know) is by FAR the most selfless person I have EVER met in my life.  I'm not saying that just because she is my mom, but its true.  She will do ANYTHING for ANYONE even if its inconvenient for her.  I will admit, I was spoiled.  She did it all.  Cooked, cleaned, worked full time, took me/us wherever we needed to go, sung in the choir, active in the PTA, again....the list goes on.

Besides being selfless, she is a woman of God.  She raised my sisters and I in church and she continues to be active at CUMC.  She sings in the choir, praise band, and has been in plays.  She has taught me how to love, respect, be kind, and to always put God first.  Most importantly, she has taught me to cherish my family and that they will always be there for me...and they are.  Our family is very close and I would have it no other way.  My mom holds us together and never complains when it gets a little crazy (7 grandchildren...6 of which are girls, yep.... it gets hectic).

Mom, thank you for accepting me.  Thank you for putting your blood, sweat, and tears into making me the woman I am today.  Thank you for your constant sacrifices you make so that others are happy.  Thank you for being you....patient, kind, generous, supportive....My Mom.

I love you!

Happy Mother's Day....I don't care what anyone says, YOU are #1.

Love you,

Abbie
