Corvian Love

My sweet kindergarten team asked if they could throw me and baby girl a small shower.  They are so sweet and I am beyond lucky to have the opportunity to work with all 7 of them!  It's not every school you work at where you not only get a long with your colleagues (especially your grade level) but enjoy being around them and with them.  I've said it a 100 times....we are all lucky to work at a school like Corvian.

Michelle hosted the shower at her house.  The house was beautifully decorated and the food was yummy!  Adaire made the beautiful cake :)  We had homemade veggie pizza, cheese/crackers, spinach dip, fruit dip, meatballs, orzo salad.....so much yumminess!  Michelle and Jenel made a sweet little diaper cake too.

We had a great time just sitting around talking and hanging out.  Lyla got lots of sweet little outfits and diapers (yay!).

Thank you ladies for a great time.  I appreciate your generosity and feel so blessed to work with such amazing people!  Love you all!

Bubble Guppies.

We couldn't have asked for a nicer day for Gage's 2nd birthday party!  We had it outside at my mom and dads.  It was 72 degrees and sunny.  The only downfall was that it was a little windy so I didn't use all the decor I had bought, but who needs that anyways?!  This birthday party was MUCH easier to prepare for then #1.  We had the party down at the barn so the kids could ride on riding toys, blow bubbles, and write with sidewalk chalk.  It's always nice when you don't have to chase your kid around at a birthday party :)

Gage LOVES Bubble Guppies so Erik wanted that to be the theme.  We of course pick the theme that is the hardest to find party supplies for.  Thankfully, Wal-Mart came through.  We got his shirt from etsy, balloons from party city, table clothes and decor from Wal-Mart, and the party was complete.

We had hot dogs cooked by my sweet husband, lots of fruit, and chips.  The cupcakes were delicious, made by my friend Adaire!  I'm a horrible mom....we totally forgot to sing happy birthday...oops!  However, he did eat a cupcake...I mean the icing.

Once all the kids were tired of playing, they went fishing in Pawpaw's pond.  Pawpaw gave Gage a fishing pole for his birthday so we had to try it out!  Gage caught his first little fish.  He didn't mind touching the fish and loved to hold the rod.  Between all his friends, fishing, and riding the golf cart, I would say the party was pretty successful!

Lots of Gage's friends were able to come:  Sloan, Owen, Sawyer, Olivia, Elise, Addi, Gracyn, Jackson, Evelyn, Chase, all his cousins, Tallon, Barrett, and Emma!

Thank you all for helping Gage celebrate being "TWO"!

We decided to have the party outside at Nanny and PawPaws at the barn.  All the kids had a ball riding the toys/cars, writing with side walk chalk, and blowing bubbles!

Showered with love.

My sweet friends were adamant about throwing me a shower!  As expected....they went above and beyond to make it a shower to remember.  The decor was beautiful, the sweets were delicious, and the coffee 'hit the spot'.  Not sure how I got so lucky to have awesome friends and family but thank you God!

Debbie planned and hosted the shower and she never disappoints.  I know she worked her hinny off, even though she probably won't admit it.  She told me, "I want you to feel special at your shower"....and I did.

The house was decorated with baby girls nursery colors:  navy, gray, mint green, white, and hints of pink.  There was every kind of coffee and creamer you could think of.  There were LOTS of desserts:  cookies,  brownies, cupcakes, strawberry shortcake, rice crispy treats, cake, dips....you name it, it was there.  When everyone arrived, they had to feel out a questionnaire to predict a due date for the baby, what she would look like, and of course....advice :)  I loved all the questionnaires because I think everyone that was there said I would have her early...whoop whoop!  At the end everyone had to write on a diaper with a sharpie something funny so when I am changing her in the middle of the night, I will laugh!  I haven't peeked at them yet :)

Thank you so much to everyone who helped out.  I had a FABULOUS time and I cannot tell you how much I appreciate your hard work.  I love you all!!

So I got some awesome gifts made by my sweet friends :)  Ashlee made these beautiful picture frames (there are more than pictured) to hang in Lyla's room.  As you can see, Reese and Bella loved them too and wanted them for their room, ha!

My friend Jen made this adorable tutu which we used in Lyla's newborn photo shoot.  She also made Lyla a TON of headbands which are also on Lyla in her photo shoot :)

This is Lyla's favorite blanket made by Lawren :) She has an etsy shop:  thepurplebobbin.  Check it out, she does great work!
